Netflix Horror Film ‘The Platform’ Is So Scary, It’s Leaving Viewers Unable To Sleep Netflix

Now that we have nothing but spare time on our hands, most of us are slowly working our way through Netflix’s entire catalog. If you haven’t already watched The Platform, the Spanish horror film recently added to the streaming service, you should — but only if you dare. Many who have braved the movie were so scared, they couldn’t sleep afterward.

  1. Be warned: this movie is seriously messed up. Unlike many so-called “horror” movies that have a PG-13 rating at best, this one is a hard R, probably bordering on Unrated. Netflix doesn’t advertise it that way, but The Platform is extremely, extremely effed up.
  2. The description alone is intriguing but doesn’t sound scary. Netflix’s synopsis for The Platform reads, “A slab of food descends floor by floor in a prison. The inmates above eat heartily, leaving those below starving and desperate. A rebellion is imminent.” That doesn’t necessarily sound terrifying, but trust me, it is…
  3. The viewer reactions say it all. You only need to search for The Platform on Twitter to see what fans are thinking of the movie. “I thought that the human centipede was the most f**ed up movie I’ve ever watched but then I watched platform and HOLT SH**,” one wrote. Another added, “The Platform on Netflix is so f**ked first time I’ve actually felt sick watching a movie.” Yikes.
  4. At least it will get your mind off the horrors happening in the real world. There’s a lot going on in the world right now and it’s downright terrifying at times. Watching a horror movie might not seem like the best idea but it actually is kind of genius. After all, the events of The Platform aren’t really true to real life in any way, shape, or form, so it’s the good kind of terror. While you’re focused on that, you won’t be worried about the real stuff. Smart move, Netflix.
