Netflix Horror Movie ‘The Hole In The Ground’ Is Said To Be One Of The Most Terrifying Ever Wildcard Distribution/Vertigo Releasing

I don’t know about you, but I love a good horror movie. I’m not often scared by ghosts or hauntings, but I’m all about movies with plots that feel like they could actually happen in real life even if it’s very unlikely. I wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I watched the Irish horror film The Hole in the Ground on Netflix, but it’s definitely one of the most genuinely terrifying I’ve ever seen.

  1. It’s a seemingly simple movie plot totally turned on its head. The Hole in the Ground revolves around a single mom who moves to the countryside with her young son. However, once there, she discovers a giant sinkhole in the forest that looks like it could swallow you whole. When her son starts acting like a completely different person, that’s when things really get interesting – and by interesting I mean terrifying.
  2. If you have kids, I imagine this movie will be even scarier. Many of the reviewers say that what makes The Hole in the Ground such a great movie is that it “exploits parental fears” so well. After all, what’s more horrifying than feeling like your child that you know and love has suddenly been replaced by someone (or something) else and you may have lost him forever?
  3. You probably don’t want to watch this one in the dark. Not only is the plot alone enough to freak your beans, but The Hole in the Ground also has its share of jump shots that will really make you jump off the edge of your seat. Then again, if you’re brave, go for it!
  4. Pretty much everyone agrees this movie is great – and one of the scariest they’ve ever seen. The Hole in the Ground currently has an 85%  fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes which is pretty solid, and the overall reviews are generally really positive. The next time you’re in the mood for a good scare, definitely put this on.
