‘Devil Lips’ Are The Latest Craze And They’re Kinda Perfect For Halloween

Weird beauty trends are plentiful, but sometimes one comes along that’s so nonsensical and utterly bizarre that it can’t be ignored. That’s definitely the case with “devil lips” in which women are getting fillers to make their lips look almost like giant octopi. Once you see it, you won’t be able to unsee it. Sorry!

  1. The trend apparently started in Russia. The devil lips trend may have started in Eastern Europe, but it’s since begun sweeping its way across the rest of the country and has even been seen in rare instances in the UK. Not only is it a bizarre look that I can’t imagine anyone wanting (especially if you have a job and/or ever want to leave the house), but it’s a thing!
  2. It’s completely unnatural – lips aren’t shaped like that for a reason. Many healthcare providers have spoken out against the devil lips trend, warning women that creating a wave shape around your lips doesn’t just look dumb, it’s potentially extremely dangerous. “You cannot change the anatomical shape of the lips like this. You can sharpen and contour by enhancing the vermillion border, but these ‘devil lips’ are unnatural,” said Dr. Krystyna, a London-based cosmetic dentist and facial esthetician.
  3. It could even be dangerous. As Dr. Krystyna explained, “Filler injected inappropriately could end up in blood vessels, causing blockages and leading to necrosis (death) of the tissue. The vessels are around the lips, so using filler inappropriately is what can cause this.” Ouch!
  4. Many people believe it has to be a hoax. After all, the look is so bizarre that it does look as if it’s a weird Photoshop trick, and the internet is full of fake news, so to speak, so it’s possible. However, those who have posted photos of themselves with devil lips have insisted it’s 100% real and they love the look. I know everyone is different and is free to like what they want, but this is crazy!
