If you’re someone who lives for sweater weather and Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks, you’re not alone. “Basic” or not, there’s nothing more comforting than kicking back in cozy clothes when the weather is chilly but not too cold and enjoying a warm, seasonal beverage. Well, cooler temperatures may still be a while not, but you might be pleased to know that Starbucks is potentially bringing back the PSL earlier than ever for 2021, and there’s not long to wait!
- The official release date is rumored to be only a few weeks away. Starbucks has reportedly set August 24 as the release date for their Pumpkin Spice Latte and related beverages, at least according to online gossip. I’m talking Frappuccinos, flavored cold brew, and more. If you can dream of a pumpkin-y creation, you might be able to drink it in a month’s time.
- If we ever needed an early Pumpkin Spice Latte, it’s this year. Listen, Starbucks clearly knows what’s up because it’s been a really tough year. A really tough 18 months, in fact. The fact that the coffee giant knows what we need and seems like it might be happy to give it to us earlier than ever for 2021 is a gift that none of us should take for granted. I can’t wait!
- Starbucks may even release it earlier. While the nationwide date is rumored to be set for August 24, each franchise can make its own rules and if their supplies come in a little early, who can say what will happen? They just might put it on the menu a few days earlier. Or, even if it’s not on the menu, they may oblige if you ask for one, so long as you say please and thank you.

While the August 24 date has been floating around online, Starbucks itself says its still not ready to say goodbye to summer drinks and is staying mum on the PSL and other fall menu items’ release date. “We’re not ready to embrace fall just yet and are still enjoying our favorite Starbucks summer beverages,” the company said in a statement. I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
