Everyone knows the best part of camping is all the snacks, particularly the s’mores. Crisping up some marshmallows until they’re gorgeously crispy and brown outside and scoldingly hot and gooey inside, throwing them on some graham crackers, and smooshing some chocolate in there is one of the most satisfyingly delicious treats ever. However, you don’t have to pitch a tent to enjoy these snacks. S’mores boards are the DIY concoction you can have from the comfort of your couch.
- You’re only limited by your imagination. Perhaps the best thing about making s’mores boards at home is that you can really include anything and everything you want to include. The basic ingredients are graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows, but you can expand beyond that into anything you’d like.
- The ingredient options are endless. You can add in everything from different chocolates to cookies to peanut butter and even fruit. As long as you have the basics in place, you can embellish them with lots of other yummy additions. S’mores boards do not discriminate—they simply want to take you to Tasty Town!
- They’re incredibly simple to make. The most effort-heavy part of making a s’mores board is really melting the marshmallows, and even that is pretty simple. Stick a bunch in an oven-safe dish and pop them in to melt and toast for a few minutes. That dish can then go at the center of your board, and you put all of your dip-ins and s’mores making materials around it. Voila!
- This is your chance to get creative. The cool thing about arranging boards of any kind, s’mores or otherwise, is that it gives you a chance to show off some creative flair. No two people will arrange a board exactly the same, and that’s what makes it so beautiful! Use the assembly time for yours as an opportunity to flex your artistic muscles.
