Shelter Puppies Visit Atlanta Aquarium To See The Fish During Shutdown

While places like zoos, aquariums, and animal shelters are currently shut down in the midst of the global health crisis, the animals that live in those places are still being cared for behind the scenes. Sometimes they even get to go on special field trips, like these adorable puppies who went to Georgia Aquarium to see the fish and had the best time ever.

  1. Caramel and Odie loved exploring! The puppies, who are from the Atlanta Humane Society, got to explore the aquarium to their hearts’ content since the aquarium is currently closed to the public. They ran, they played, and they had a fantastic time. “They made all sorts of exciting discoveries and lots of new friends!” the AHS revealed in a Facebook post.
  2. Thankfully, the whole thing was caught on video. In the video, the puppies can be seen checking out the marine life, sniffing around their surroundings, and even getting some treats from some of the Aquarium’s staff. In other words, they had the best day ever.
  3. The Atlanta Humane Society wants to make us smile. That’s why they shared the video on social media, of course. “We were just looking to bring brightness to people’s days,” explained Kristina Hill from the Atlanta Humane Society in an interview with NBC 29. The aquarium added in a statement, “In times like these, we at Georgia Aquarium want to bring joy to peoples’ day, and what better way than with puppies? We teamed up with Atlanta Humane Society and invited them to the Aquarium for a ‘day out’ while we are closed to the public.”
  4. This isn’t the first time animals have had the chance for a field trip. Lest we forget, penguins at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago were recently allowed to roam the premises and check out their habitat, so it looks like the animals are having a grand ol’ time living in blissful ignorance throughout this, lucky them!
