Selena Gomez Calls Justin Bieber Breakup ‘The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me’ Apple TV

Selena Gomez has said that deciding to break up with Justin Bieber was one of the best things that has ever happened to her in life. In her new Apple TV documentary “Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me,” the singer and actress discussed the highly publicized relationship and the effect it had on her.

  1. Splitting wasn’t an easy decision. Because the relationship was so public, Selena Gomez admitted that going through with her break-up from Justin Bieber was anything but easy. However, she eventually knew she had to walk away. “I felt haunted by a past relationship that no one wanted to let go of, but then I just moved past it. I wasn’t afraid anymore,” she said (per TMZ).
  2. The path to happiness took a while. She didn’t just end her relationship and feel fine. Gomez and Bieber dated on and off for years and were one another’s first loves. That takes a bit to get over. “I feel like I had to go through the worst possible heartbreak ever and then just forgetting everything at the drop of a hand, it was really confusing,” she recalled. “… but I just think that needed to happen and ultimately, it was the best thing that ever happened to me.”
  3. Both stars have moved on for good now. Not only is Bieber married to Hailey Bieber, but Selena Gomez has been dating casually herself. Since splitting from Bieber, she’s been linked to everyone from Chris Evans and Andrea Iervolino to Niall Horan and The Weekend. While it seems she hasn’t yet found the perfect person for her, she’s in a really good place and isn’t worried about rushing the process. She knows that when it’s meant to be, it will be. In the meantime, she has so many other cool things happening. It’s hard to imagine her minding much.
