12 Reasons Leggings Are Better Than Boyfriends

At the end of a long day, which would you rather have – your favorite pair of leggings or a boyfriend who thinks you should always wear lingerie? No one chose option two? Not surprised. Leggings are better than boyfriends. They’re always right there when you need them and they don’t bitch and moan about something you couldn’t care less about.

  1. They’re always the perfect fit. Guys come in all shapes and sizes, and as we’ve all discovered, they’re not always the right fit. Leggings mold to your body just right. They hug, contour,, and caress your legs in all the right places. You go from stressed to relaxed in minutes.
  2. They never make you feel awkward. There’s something empowering about these spandex wonders. You feel sexy and confident. With your boyfriend, you sometimes just want to change your identity after he does something stupid in the middle of a crowded restaurant or he tells his friends about that embarrassing thing during sex.
  3. They go with anything. You can’t take your boyfriend everywhere, but you can wear leggings with anything. Sure, a longer top might be best, but they look great with crop tops, too. Wear them casual or dressy. They’re perfect for everything.
  4. They exist only to please you. What guy can honestly say this? Your leggings have one purpose — to make you happy. It’s all they do. They don’t ask for anything in return. OK, so they might want you to wash them sometimes, but that’s all.
  5. They don’t care what else you wear. Guys have this bad habit of turning into the fashion police at the most random times. They ask you what you’re wearing and why. Your leggings don’t give a damn. Wear that stained, ripped t-shirt or nothing at all. They don’t care.
  6. They don’t mind if you’d rather just stay in. Don’t feel like going out to see the latest action movie? Your leggings don’t care. They’re happy staying in, lounging in bed or sitting on the couch. They don’t pester you to make plans when you’re already happy staying at home.
  7. They make you feel great, no matter what. It’s been a crappy day, but your leggings have superpowers. Slip them on and feel great. Just like that. You can’t help but smile when you slide them on. Your boyfriend might try to make you feel better, but it doesn’t happen that fast. Of course, he could be the problem to start with.
  8. They’re much cheaper. You buy a pair and wear them for years. Pretty cheap. A boyfriend means buying gifts, paying for food and doing little special things for him. If he’s one of the “trying to find himself, but won’t turn his hand to do a damn thing” kind of guys, you’re looking at even more expense. Yeah, leggings win.
  9. You can have more than one. Have two boyfriends at once and you’re a cheating promiscuous woman. At least with guys, the same judgement applies. Still, with leggings, you can have as many pairs as you want at once. Hell, you could even wear two pairs at once if you want.
  10. They don’t complain when you’re bloated. Ever had your boyfriend wonder why you’re tummy’s bigger overnight? You’d think he’d understand PMS by now, but sometimes they just can’t comprehend the hell you go through. Your leggings happily stretch to deal with the bloating and never complain.
  11. They don’t judge, ever. Hair look like crap? Got bags under your eyes? Eating Cheetos while walking on the treadmill? You could be at your worst and your leggings don’t care. They’ll never make fun of you or shame you. They’re just happy being worn.
  12. They don’t care if you ditch them for jeans. Cancel plans with your boyfriend for a girls night and he’ll hold it against you for months. Decide you want to wear jeans instead of leggings and they’ll just wait patiently until you want them again. Why can’t guys do that? See, leggings are the perfect guy – quiet, comforting and there only when we need them.
