Jelly Belly Sparkling Water Exists So You Can Enjoy Your Candy Without The Sugar Joffer Beverage Co.

If you love Jelly Belly jelly beans, you’ll know as well as I do how easy it is to go through way too many of them until you’re having a hardcore sugar high followed by just as serious of a crash. Bingeing on candy might be cool when you’re a kid, but as an adult, it’s probably better to think a little more wisely about what you’re eating. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy your candy without the calories. After all, Jelly Belly Sparkling Water exists now!

  1. How did this even come about? According to Stephen Joffer, a sixth-generation member of the Jelly Belly family and nephew of Jelly Belly CEO Lisa Rowland Brasher, “We were on the back patio, drinking a couple of popular sparkling water brands, when I said out loud, ‘If only someone could nail a sparkling water with really stand-out flavors. The lightbulb came on when my dad suggested, ‘Why not our own Jelly flavors? We are known for rich flavors after all.” I’m not complaining!
  2. It will be available in eight flavors. While Jelly Belly itself offers beans in 50 different flavors, the sparkling water is offered in a much more modest eight. You can get your cans in French Vanilla, Lemon Lime, Orange Sherbet, Piña Colada, Pink Grapefruit, Tangerine, Very Cherry, and Watermelon, which is a pretty decent selection. I just wish there was a Juicy Pear!
  3. There’s no sugar added. This isn’t like regular soda, it’s a sparkling water, and as such there are no artificial sweeteners, sugar, or even sodium. That means even if you’re “on a diet” or just trying to be more mindful about being good to your body, you can still enjoy this!
  4. They come in packs of eight. The price for the eight-packs, which are being released this week (they were officially unveiled on January 12) is between $4.99 and $5.99 depending on your location. While that’s not exactly cheap, it’s not that far off popular brands like LaCroix and this is a novelty product of sorts, so it seems fair enough.
  5. Unfortunately, it’s only available at Hy-Vee at the moment. That means if you don’t live near one of their stores, you might be out of luck… for now. Thankfully, JellyBelly.com will be selling the packs on their website soon too, so don’t despair!
