The weird thing about life is that we spend so much time and effort trying to reach our goals, but when we actually accomplish them, we often don’t get the satisfaction we were expecting. For real go-getters, this can be even more intense. If everything is going well but you still feel like you’re missing something, it might just be time for a new challenge. Here are some signs you’re ready to change your life:

  1. You’ve reached all your current goals. First off, congrats! There was a time when those goals were peaks in the distance,, and now you’re standing on top of the mountain unsure about where to go. Setting a new goal will make the path appear.
  2. You’re crying over nothing. And it’s not even hormonal. The weirdest things are making you feel emotional about life and you can’t quite put your finger on it.
  3. Boredom is always on deck. You don’t even like to admit it because you think boredom is for boring people, and yet there it is, creeping on your work day and bumming you out.
  4. You’re seriously ignoring your passion. You can build the biggest life out there, but if you’re ignoring that voice in your head and feeling in your gut about what you really want to be doing with your time, it might be time to answer to it.
  5. Just “getting by” isn’t appealing. Even if where you are now was once the stuff your dreams were made of, if you feel like it’s a little pointless, it’s time for a jumpstart to give life meaning again.
  6. Silly drama is intriguing you more than normal. You’re usually too busy to get involved, but since your own life feels a little less than exciting at the moment, you’re basically devouring tabloids and taking your Instagram stalking to Level 10.
  7. You’re being forced into change. Sometimes challenges force themselves onto us because we’re not getting out there. This is a great reason to choose our experiences as opposed to being strong-armed.
  8. You’re hitting walls all over the place. There’s something about the act of doing that gets us inspired sets us right into the flow of life. Without that, it can feel like we’re lost and stuck in a maze with no way out.
  9. Life feels small. If you feel restricted, held back, or like there’s a lot more out there for you, then there is. You don’t even have to know exactly what it is that you want, you just have to be willing to get out there and look for it.
  10. Growing sounds more appealing than staying the same. Sometimes it’s very comfortable to stay in one place and avoid all the potential scary stuff, but eventually that feeling gets annoying as crap and the scary stuff seems less scary than doing nothing.
  11. You’re in a major transition. Graduating from school, breaking up, starting a new job? They’re all good signs that you’re ready for the challenge that’s ahead, because you’ve come this far, haven’t you?
  12. You can’t stop talking about what isn’t working. And sometimes it’s a lot of talking in circles. If you know that things aren’t the best that they could be, there’s some potential in there that’s just waiting for you to take advantage of it.
