Here’s How You’ll Know If He’s Falling For You

I’m pretty sure it’s possible to drive yourself nuts trying to figure out how a guy feels about you, but it doesn’t have to be that way. If you find yourself questioning whether or not he’s falling in love with you, the answer is simpler than you think — if he is, you’ll just know.

  1. He’s not afraid to be vulnerable. He’ll open up to you in a way that he won’t even with his closest friends. You’ll hear about his childhood, his past romances, and his life story. He’ll talk to you about his hopes, his dreams, his fears. Eventually, you’re going to become his best friend because you’re going to know more about him than anyone, and that’s how you’ll know he’s in love with you.
  2. Talking about the future comes naturally. If he’s ever brought up your future together, it means he’s thought about it and can see the two of you lasting long-term. If that’s not a flashing neon sign telling you that he’s falling in love with you, I don’t know what is. He gets excited about making plans with you for months, even years from now, and that’s the most obvious indication that he’s in love.
  3. He’s thoughtful about the little things. He reaches for your hand when you’re walking down the sidewalk. He kisses you on the forehead when he’s holding you. He makes a point to open your doors for you. These all seem trivial or mindless to some, but most guys don’t do those things unless they truly care about you.
  4. He makes you laugh and thinks you’re hilarious too. Your jokes might be corny, but he loves how silly you are. Together you can find the dumbest things to laugh about. Other people might find you two ridiculous, but if you can make him genuinely laugh, you’ve won your way into his heart. Nothing binds two people together tighter than a shared sense of humor. After all, life is short, so it’s best to share a life full of laughter.
  5. He makes an effort to be consistent and reliable. You never catch this guy going AWOL for days at a time, and when he says he’s going to do something or be somewhere, he follows through. When a man is falling for you, he’s 100% consistent and never leaves you hanging. If he makes a promise, he keeps it. He wants you to know that he’s serious about you, so his actions match his words.
  6. He misses you when you’re not around. While you both know that spending 24/7 together isn’t healthy, he’s so nuts about you that spending more than a few days apart makes him miss you terribly. When he goes away on a work trip, he texts you every night just to check in. When you’re visiting family in another state, he asks how things are going and what you’re up to. That’s because you’re in his mind constantly.
  7. You can see it in his eyes. He’ll look at you like you’re the most incredible woman he’s ever met because to him, you are. Rather than making eye contact and feeling like he’s looking into your soul, you’ll feel like he’s opening up to let you peer into his too. Once you start to recognize his facial expressions, you’ll be able to tell which one is reserved just for you — the one that says “I love you.”
  8. You can feel it in the way he touches you. It’s not an obligatory hug or quick peck on the cheek at he’s running out the door — it’s the way he embraces you when he comes home after a long day of work or the way he traces his fingers along your arm when you’re laying beside each other. He’s not just touching you, he’s memorizing every inch of you.
  9. He outright tells you. At some point, his emotions become so overwhelming that he has to express them verbally. You can tell he’s falling for you because the words are coming out of his mouth. That kind of validation feels amazing — and if you’re in the same place, you shouldn’t be shy about letting him know!
