Hallmark Is Airing A Christmas Movie Marathon This Weekend To Keep People Entertained While Socially Distancing

While it’s hard to imagine being full of holiday spirit at the moment given everything that’s going on in the world, there’s no denying that Christmas is the most magical, happy time of year. That’s why the Hallmark Channel wants to alleviate some of our self-isolation blues by airing a Christmas movie marathon this weekend.

  1. The Countdown to Christmas event has come early! The Hallmark Channel is known for this event, which see the network airing a whole slew of deliciously cheesy, over-the-top romantic Christmas movies to get everyone in the mood for December 25. However, this time around, we’re getting all the good stuff in March!
  2. It all starts on Friday. According to Entertainment Tonight, the Hallmark Christmas movie marathon will begin at 12 p.m. EST on Friday, March 20 and will continue through until Sunday night. The action begins with A Christmas Detour starring Candace Cameron Bure and ends with the Lacey Chabert classic Christmas in Rome.
  3. There are so many good movies coming up. Hallmark’s Christmas movie marathon will air a total of 27 classics, including but not limited to A Christmas Love Story, Mingle All the Way, Crown for Christmas, A Very Merry Mix-Up, Snow Bride, and Switched for Christmas. Sold on this idea yet or what? There are literally so many good movies coming on, I seriously need to set my DVR for the ones that will air when I’m asleep.
  4. Why not make it an event? If you haven’t already eaten all of your isolation snacks, this is the perfect time to whip up some holiday snacks and have a Christmas in March party. Is that a thing? Maybe not, but it can be. Build a gingerbread house! Bake some Christmas cookies! Drink some holiday cocktails! In other words, do whatever you can to distract yourself from the tough stuff happening in the real world, at least for a little while.
