Gifts I Really Wish My Boyfriend Would Give Me For Valentine’s Day

Sometimes the best gifts in the world are free, so why don’t I ever get them? I’m not asking for expensive jewelry or dozens of roses — those things don’t really matter. Don’t get me wrong, I love what he does get me, but if he really wants to impress me on Valentine’s Day, all he’d have to do is look at my secret wish list.

  1. An entire bed to myself. Snuggling is great, but at some point, I’m tired of sharing and just want the whole bed to myself. There’s something so immensely satisfying about curling up in a queen sized bed and knowing it’s all mine.
  2. High quality remote time. I’m not asking for a few minutes. I’m talking about an entire day or week. Nothing but the shows I want to watch without him flipping to something else. It seems like he’d like this one since I love action movies as much as he does.
  3. Selfish naked time. Sex is supposed to be equal parts give and take, making everyone happy. I don’t see anything wrong with having a completely selfish night. I’m happy to reciprocate, but it’s definitely a gift I’ll remember and want again and again.
  4. All the chocolate I want with no consequences. So, he might not be able to manage this one, but that doesn’t mean I don’t still want it. Imagine eating all the left over (aka well hidden) Halloween candy in just a few days with no weight gain. That’s what I want, plus unlimited fries, burgers and pizza too.
  5. A weekend on my own. I love my boyfriend, but sometimes I still want some time to myself. I don’t even really want to go anywhere, though an occasion solo trip might be nice. I keep trying to push him to go off with the guys for a weekend, but so far, no luck.
  6. A massage with no expectations. Does every massage have to lead to sex? It’s like a guy thinks if he rubs around the tension in your back, you’ll rub away some of his lower tension. I just want a full body massage without him expecting it to lead to more.
  7. His closet. I have a bit of a clothing problem. There’s never enough room. He doesn’t even have that many clothes. Couldn’t he just fold them in a corner or something? I’m sure I could make much better use of his closet than he does.
  8. Cooking dinner for a week. Not only is it a cheap date idea, but it’s the perfect way to come home after a long day at work. It reminds me of when we first started dating. I’d love to be spoiled with fresh cooked meals every night for an entire week.
  9. A room full of kittens. What’s better than kittens? Nothing. Just give me a few hours in a room full of the adorable little puff balls and I’m in heaven. He can come in too, but all my attention is still on the little kitties.
  10. Actually listening. He doesn’t think I realize, but I know the moment he tunes out. He’s good at nodding and giving one word responses at the right time (most of the time). I want a day where he listens with his full focus on me.
  11. Doing what I want without complaining. I hate hearing “we can do whatever you want,” but when we do it, he bitches the whole time. I want to choose several things I want to do and he can’t bitch and moan about it, ruining it for me. He might just find he enjoys my stuff after all.
  12. Strip tease. Magic Mike should take place in my bedroom. Why should I have to do the sexy strip tease? I want to see him do it. Depending on how it goes, I’ll either be turned on or laughing until I can’t breathe.
  13. A few free passes out of family dinners. Ever have those times when you really didn’t want to go out with your boyfriend’s family? Me too. If only he’d give me a few free passes to just say no without him getting pissed. No real reason, just a no and I’m good to go.
  14. Flowers that don’t die, that he plants. I love getting flowers, except for the whole dying and shedding everywhere part. That’s why I usually don’t even want flowers. Now, if he wanted to buy me a few rose bushes and plant them for me, I’d love that. While they’re not free, it’s the gift that keeps giving year after year.
