It’s surprising that some men ever get laid with the way they treat women. After all, why would you sleep with someone who clearly has no respect for you or your gender as a whole? Even though guys will claim “not all men” are like that, there are a massive amount of them that are. They do disrespectful things to women on the daily, but it’s time for that to end. Seriously, cut it out, guys.
- Using the phrase “false advertisement.” Wearing makeup to enhance her natural features doesn’t count as lying about her appearance. Wearing Spanx to keep her gut in and pushup bras to make her boobs look bigger isn’t false advertisement, either. She’s allowed to use makeup and clothing to make herself feel more confident, just like bald men wear hats or toupees to feel more confident.
- Leading women on. Casual sex has become common, so why would any man lie about his intentions? If he only wanted sex, he could find a woman on the same page as him. There’s no sense in flirting with someone who has real feelings for him in order to get in her pants. Be honest from the start.
- Catcalling. No woman in the history of life has stopped in her tracks, walked back over to the man who had whistled at her, and dropped to her knees. Catcalling isn’t a compliment. It’s demeaning, which is why it needs to come to an end.
- Judging a woman for her sexual choices. Men call women promiscuous if they’re sexually active, but call them prudes if they’re virgins. They say women are trying too hard if they wear makeup and that they’re slobs if they walk around without makeup. Women just can’t win.
- Sending penis pics. If a man is in a relationship with a woman, he should feel free to send her pictures of his naked body. If he’s just started messaging her on Tinder, he should probably keep those pictures to himself, unless she asks for them—and she’s never going to ask for them.
- Diminishing female emotions. When a woman tells her boyfriend she’s upset, he should listen to what she has to say. He shouldn’t call her nuts or overly emotional, just because she’s expressing her opinion. She has a right to speak, just like he does.
- Not taking “no” for an answer. When a woman turns someone down at the bar, they should take it as their cue to leave. If they stick around and continue to beg her for a date, it’s disrespectful, even if they’re only saying nice things to her. No means no. It’s as simple as that.
- Viewing women as inferior. Women deserve to make just as much money as men. They deserve to be CEOs and presidents. They aren’t incapable of holding a high position, because of “their time of the month.” They’re just as talented as any man is.
- Blatantly staring at women. Women check out men all the time, but it’s hard to spot it happening, because they do so subtly. After all, it’s rude to stare at someone, even if it’s because they’re attractive. That’s why men need to learn how to control themselves, so that they don’t make the women around them feel uncomfortable.
- Making sexist jokes. Telling a woman to make a sandwich or to get back in the kitchen isn’t funny anymore. In fact, it never was. It doesn’t matter if a man truly believes that she should be in charge of the cooking or if he’s just joking, because either way his behavior is disrespectful.
