On your wedding day, you want everything to be perfect. You want a dress that makes you feel like the queen you are, decorations that reflect the dream you’ve always had for the ceremony, and the most gorgeously elegant bouquet. While traditional flowers are undoubtedly beautiful, many brides are now opting for succulent bouquets for a unique, modern twist that just might become the next big thing.
- You can keep them after the special day. Perhaps the best reason to go with a succulent bouquet over classic flowers is that they’re way more sustainable. Since succulents can live for years while flowers tend to last a couple of weeks at most, it means you can keep your bouquet long after you say “I do,” which is a wonderful way to commemorate such a special day.
- They come in a variety of colors and shapes. That means regardless of your wedding theme, there will likely be a variety of succulent for your bouquet that will work perfectly with your color scheme. You can even choose to mix succulents with traditional flowers for a combo bouquet which would also be lovely. The options really are endless here.
- Why stop at succulents? There are plenty of other hardy plants that you could mix in with your succulents to really make your bouquet unique and really catered to who you are and what you love. Aloe plants? Sure, why not. Any plant you’d like to incorporate is probably possible, so talk to your florist (or get ready to be super crafty if you’re creating them yourself).
- You can even make succulent crowns. On Instagram, @succulentsforhire showed off a beautiful succulent crown made for a flower girl at a recent wedding and it’s so creative! This could easily be adapted to suit a whole bridal party or even a fancier version for the bride herself.
