‘The Bachelor’ Is Creating A Version For Senior Citizens And It’s Going To Be Amazing ABC

I used to talk a lot of s**t about The Bachelor. I mean, it’s obviously totally fake and set up by producers and the contestants that join the show are all hot messes. Then I realized that’s exactly why it’s so genius. It’s trash TV at its finest and these days, I can’t get enough. However, just when I thought this show couldn’t get any crazier, the producers have gone and announced that they’re making a version for senior citizens and suddenly, things just got a whole lot more intense.

  1. The casting announcement went out on Twitter. The user @BachelorBob_ posted a screenshot of the casting announcement released by Bachelor producers looking for seniors “entering [their] golden years and looking for romance” to join the new dating show. They also add that applicants should be “active and outgoing” and “ready for a committed relationship,” of course. No senior players, please!
  2. Can you imagine senior citizens in the fantasy suite? Of course, I’m making some pretty serious leaps here by assuming that the Bachelor producers are envisioning a straight-up remake of the original series or if it’s going to be a tamer, more mature version catered to the older contestants on the show.
  3. They have to keep the rose ceremony, right? While I feel like there will necessarily be way fewer catfights and scheming — although saying that, my grandma lives in an independent living facility and the ladies in her building are FEISTY! — I’m hoping that the drama of the rose ceremony or something similar is kept for the senior citizen version of The Bachelor, if it’s even called that in the end.
  4. If you know a senior citizen who might be good for ‘The Bachelor,’ here’s how you can apply. ABC is taking applications for its new show via Casting Crane HERE. The applicant has to provide their name, address, phone number, date of birth, occupation (if any), as well as answering other questions about their appearance, background, and a LOT more. In other words, you’ll need to set some time aside to fill out the application, but it could be worth it to find love!
