The ‘American Horror Story’ Spinoff Is Officially Happening To Freak You Out All Over Again FX

If you’re a fan of Ryan Murphy’s, you’re probably also obsessed with American Horror Story. The freaky horror series has been a major hit for FX and become a cult classic since its 2011 debut, which is why it’s no surprise that the network has officially greenlit an American Horror Story spinoff rather appropriately called American Horror Stories.

  1. Wait, so how is this different from the original? While American Horror Story has always been an anthology series with themed seasons containing many recurring characters and elements, the spinoff series is going to put a different twist on its approach by making each episode a standalone horror story all of its own.
  2. Murphy first revealed the show’s existence earlier this month. According to TV Line, Murphy let the secret slip about the American Horror Story spinoff during a May 11 Zoom call featuring cast members from the original show. American Horror Stories is expected to film around the same time as its predecessor, which is coming up on its 10th season.
  3. Who’s going to be in the spinoff? It’s probably safe to assume that many of the original American Horror Story actors will appear in the new series, though given that all of the episodes will be self-contained, it’s unlikely that we’ll see the actors we know and love in more than fleeting roles. That being said, nothing at all has been confirmed yet, so you never know what will happen!
  4. It’s going to be a while before we get any more from Murphy’s genius, twisted mind. He recently revealed that Season 10 of AHS has been pushed back for perhaps up to a year because of the global health crisis. “A lot of what I was going to shoot was dependent on a very specific moment,” he told The Wrap. “It was a weather-dependent show. So now I don’t know. I don’t know what we’re going to do. I don’t know what I’m gonna do next with that show. I don’t know if I’ll accelerate another season or wait till next year to shoot this one.” Because of this, it’s likely that we won’t be getting any new episodes before sometime in 2021. Hey, at least we know they’re coming!
