12 Texts Guys Send That Drive Women Crazy (In A Good Way)

Love it or hate it, texting is a major part of dating these days. When you spend some time messaging with a guy you’re interested in, you tend to find out very quickly if the things he’s sending you are what you’d hope to get from a future husband or signs of heartache waiting to happen. But even though lots of us love getting entire paragraphs about how crazy a guy is about us, there are also plenty of simpler texts that make our hearts soar with just a few simple words. Spoiler alert: There’s literally nothing suggestive about any of them.

1. “Thinking about you.”

The idea that a guy you care about took even a little bit of time to let you know you were on his mind is particularly sweet. He didn’t ask a question or need anything from you — he just adores you enough to feel compelled to tell you that he’s got you on the brain. This seems like such a basic text, but it gets pretty adorable when you consider the thought process behind it.

2. “Good morning :)”

I’m not one of those girls who gets upset when she doesn’t receive a “good morning” text from the guy she’s dating, but when I do get it, my whole day is made. There’s something special about knowing that the guy you’re into started his day by thinking about you.

4. “I had a great time tonight.”

I know I’m not the only one who’s gotten home from a great date wondering if the guy I went with is as excited about it as I am. Getting this text is proof that you’re not alone in going to bed with butterflies in your stomach. Plus, now you no longer have to worry that he was super turned off by how loudly you snorted when you laughed at his joke.

5. “I love you.”

Not “I love ya,” not “love you,” and definitely not “luv u.” Emotion is hard to convey over text, but somehow, the message behind typing out all three words with a period to really drive the idea home is solid proof that the love he feels for you is REAL. It lacks the casual, offhand nature of other versions of this sentence, instead becoming something much more authentic and meaningful.

6. “When can I see you?”

It’s easy to toss out a casual “I want to see you,” because there’s really no obligation to actually make plans to do something with you. But turning it into a question like this implies that he wants to schedule a time to get together. He’s not just trying to flatter you — he’s trying to hang out with you as soon as possible.

7. “Did you make it home okay?”

Maybe my standards are just ridiculously low, but a guy who is concerned about my safety is guaranteed to make me swoon. I always worry about people I care about, so knowing that a guy is invested in my well-being earns him some serious brownie points.

8. “Saw this and it reminded me of you.”

Whether it’s a photo of something related to an inside joke you two have, or it’s just a goofy meme he thought would make you laugh, it’s always a little heart-melting when a guy sends you something that made him think of you. Even if it’s just something silly, it’s still enough to prove that you’re someone who’s always at the front of his mind.

9. “I miss you already.”

When you’re in the stage of a relationship in which you can never get enough of the guy you’re seeing, it’s nice to know that he feels the exact same way. Getting this text after a great day together is the cherry on top of a special memory with that boy you just can’t stop thinking about.

10. “Check out this song.”

If he isn’t the type to write love songs for you, sending you music that he thinks you’d enjoy is a nice alternative. It might be something super meaningful for the both of you, or it might just be something that he thinks fits your style, but either way, the fact that he sent it means that he pays attention to your interests and wants to brighten your day a little.

11. “I was telling so-and-so about you today.”

Hold up — not only is he telling people about you, but he’s also telling YOU that he’s telling people about you. In other words, he wants you to know that other people know what a big deal you are to him. Knowing that you’re being worked into the conversations he has with his friends and family makes it pretty hard not to get excited about what you have going on with this guy.

12. “I wish I were there with you right now.”

This is one of those “corny” texts that still manages to be super sweet no matter how hard you try to deny it. It’s just so easy to imagine the guy you’re talking to sitting wherever he is and wanting to be with you instead.

13. “You’re everything I’ve ever wanted. Your love means the world to me.”

He knows the difference between “you’re” and “your.” Good grammar is HOT.
