15 Daily Battles That Only Highly Organized People Will Recognize

Being highly organized may seem like it’s an excellent personality trait—everything is always in its place and things are always getting done on time. But, in reality, being a highly organized person can be a constant struggle. Many people fail to see that individuals who are highly organized deal with a lot of stress and anxiety when things are out of sorts and unorganized. This can lead to daily battles that happen behind closed doors, like these 15.

1. They have to make sure everything is clean and neat.

Organized people like their space organized (duh). But, when they live with others—a spouse, roommates, or even a whole family—it can be a challenge to keep things neat. A daily struggle is making sure things are where they need them to be and sometimes, this means picking up after other people, too.

2. They answer emails and texts right away.

Highly organized people don’t leave things just sitting around. If they get an email from work, even if they’re home on the weekend, they have to answer it. If someone texts them, they automatically stop what they’re doing and respond. Leaving things at bay causes way too much anxiety, it’s just not for them.

3. They do things right away, even though they can wait.

There are plenty of tasks that don’t need to be done right at that exact moment. Instead of taking the garbage out later or folding the laundry tomorrow, highly organized people want to finish things as soon as humanly possible. They don’t like to leave a clutter or even leave things on their to-do list.

4. They always have to finish their to-do lists.

Speaking of to-do lists, highly organized people have them—and use them. If they don’t complete their entire to-do lists, they feel an immense amount of guilt and sometimes even shame. Making sure their to-do lists stay checked off can be a lot of pressure and hard work. It takes time management to the extreme, which can be hard.

5. They plan for tomorrow…today.

Highly organized people plan their day the night before. They map out what they’re wearing, what they’re going to cook and eat, where they need to go, and how to get everything done while still having some time for themselves. This can be a lot to note mentally—especially when it’s time to shut down and go to bed. Instead of going to sleep right away, they stay up all night thinking.

6. They always have to be sure they’re fed and hydrated.

People who are highly organized always plan their meals ahead of time. Most of them are “meal prep” individuals who cook on a Sunday and package everything out for the rest of the week. This is a lot to do on Sunday, which is the day that everyone loves to rest and relax. They’re also constantly trying to stay on top of being healthy so that they have enough energy to get through the day-to-day.

7. They never have enough containers.

Picture those fridges in TikTok videos that are so perfectly neat and sorted, or the pantries that are fully stocked—you know you love to watch them. Highly organized individuals go out of their way to buy the things that will keep their homes perfectly neat—i.e.: those amazing containers. But, they are pretty expensive. And, whenever they get the itch to re-organize and re-do things, they truly never have enough.

8. They need to label everything.

If you aren’t sure what something is or where things are stored, labeling everything keeps it easy to find. But taking the time out to label every item in the house is a ton of work. It takes away time that highly organized people need to finish that to-do list.

9. They get up early, every day.

Most highly organized people don’t sleep in much. If they do, they’ll feel as though they are losing time in which they can be productive and get things done. Many of them have an alarm set on their phone at the same time, every day, even on the weekends.

10. They struggle to find time for themselves.

You might wonder if highly organized people ever have “me time.” With such a hectic life and schedule, it’s almost impossible to find that time to decompress. How can they fit in time for reality TV and a face mask when they; ‘re busy trying to be as productive as humanly possible?

11. They have to deal with unorganized people.

The biggest annoyance of a highly organized person is having to deal with those who are just, well, not. Whether it be a spouse, a sibling, or even a co-worker, when you have to be around that person often and share space with them, it can drive a highly organized person up a wall. They find themselves picking up after everyone else and making their life twice as hard.

12. They get made fun of a lot.

Those who aren’t as highly organized tend to poke fun and make a joke out of organized folks’ needs and essentially, their personality. It can be annoying to have to hear jokes about planning, preparing, or to-do lists when it is just something that keeps you sane and happy.

13. They are always setting goals—and trying to crush them.

Highly organized people motivate themselves by setting goals and always crushing them—or trying their best to. Setting goals keeps highly organized people on track and on task throughout the day, setting out a true purpose and something tangible to accomplish. However, they don’t always crush their goals right away. This can lead to some self-loathing and anger for not getting things done in a timely fashion.

14. They have to find a “place” for everything.

No matter what item or what room it belongs in, highly organized people have to find a place for everything. Every single shoe, every lotion, every vase, candle—you name it, they have to find a perfect spot to store it. Unfortunately, not everyone has the space or the storage to do so. When someone lives in a small apartment or has to share a home with others, it cuts down on all of their free space.

15. They have to downsize often.

Because these people have to find a place for everything, that sometimes means they have to get rid of other things to make room. Highly organized people need free space, which means saying goodbye to things they may actually love and want, but just don’t have the space or the room for any more.
